Surprised in the mornings are nothing unusual. We often are surprised with many things, as a lot can happen in the middle of the night!

Tonight our Pygmy gave birth to a healthy kid Doe. Weighing around ~3lbs she was tiny but thankfully had a warm night. We were also anticipating this event, although you never can tell when it's gonna happen. Historically, 90% of ours happen at night, across all animals.

We're not sure why that is...

We haven't named her yet, and we are going to be keeping her for our local herd. Got any name ideas? Shoot us an email with your idea! If we choose it, we'll give you 50% any item in the store!

These little goats are fast movers. From the start, it's about an hour in, and they are walking. 3 Hours in, they are running.

24 Hours, they look like they've been there all along. After about a week, they are doing ninja kicks off walls.

So far, we so no issues with this one, and it's perfect timing in weather for her!

And here for some reason, this shot makes her look like a Lamb... weird right?

She'll be Ramming us in the knee caps in no-time! We'll keep updates here on the blog of her progress over the course of the next few weeks, and soon, we'll get some video!

Until then, here are some fact's I sleuthed out of Chat GPT into giving me:

  1. Pygmy goats are not dwarf goats. While they are smaller than standard breeds, they are not the same as dwarf goats.

  2. Pygmy goats are a domestic breed, and they are descended from West African dwarf goats.

  3. Pygmy goats have a unique vocalization called "singing" or "yodeling." They make this sound when they are happy, excited, or seeking attention.

  4. Pygmy goats are social animals and thrive in herds. They are very playful and love to climb and play on structures and obstacles.

  5. Pygmy goats are hardy animals and can adapt to a range of climates, including hot and cold environments.

  6. Pygmy goats have a lifespan of around 10-12 years, but some have been known to live up to 15 years.

  7. Pygmy goats are known for their excellent meat and milk production, despite their small size.

  8. Pygmy goats have unique personalities and are often described as being friendly, curious, and affectionate.

  9. Pygmy goats are popular pets and are often kept in urban and suburban areas because of their small size and friendly disposition.

  10. Pygmy goats are excellent escape artists and require sturdy fencing and secure enclosures to prevent them from escaping.
