Ok, so the name ended up being Annie. The votes we're actually pretty wild. We had about 75 submitted names, some from people with didn't even know, however, 3 of them were "Annie - Orphaned" - Thanks for everyone coming up with the names. Whoever came up with: KLEAPIGTRASPICEGIRL .. gonna need to work on that some.. But thanks for submitting.
Soooo, now we have a pig that thinks it's a dog, living in our house. She's actually cleaner than our dogs, potty trained (with exceptions) and does not leave our side. She follows along with us on our walks, makes nice holes in the ground while she waits, and barks. Yes, she is barking. She barks when she see's someone or the dogs, after not seeing them for a while. It's hard to predict, but we're trying to get her on video doing this. It's pretty wild. I don't know if she heard the dogs doing it, or it's natural noise. We've never heard a piglet do this. It's like a bark of excitement followed by a whip like tail that gives us that familiar sign she's happy. If you don't feed her, she's not happy, and she bites. Hard.
So we keep saying this over, and regurgitating this fact to people, but ITS NOT LIKE A DOG. It's kinda alien in a sense to the other animals in our domain that we allow into our personal space. For example, you cannot call this piglet to come to you. She does or doesn't. If you have food in a bottle, it's 100% she'll come. Don't feed the bottle, she will bite you to let you know that's not nice.
We're going to be soon starting a pen in the summer for her, and get her a friend to be with. She won't be able to stay in the house for long, despite the largest kennel on Amazon a mere feet from my bed. We hope she ditches the biting strategy too. Otherwise, she is doing great!
"Wonder what's she thinking..."
